He and his wife, Sensei Peggy Mitchell have operated the Peter Claver Center, a not-for-profit serving residents of Will County, since March, 1969.  While running the Center they provided free tutoring for those in need, Thanksgiving turkey and food baskets, Christmas toy give away, a food pantry and martial arts lessons.  The Mitchells have helped thousands of people over the decades and under their guidance made it what it is today.

Their guidance and mentoring of thousands at risk inner city youth, gave them a place to train and positive life experiences instead of being on the street, and pulled them away from gangs and drugs.

The Mitchells have touched the lives of hundreds of thousand people throughout the world.  Sensei has been an anchor of Joliet and Will County for many decades.  Mr. Mitchell has been part of the foundation to the City of Joliet.

The Mitchells have been giving of themselves and now it is our turn to show them how much they are loved, cared for and supported.  Sensei is now in hospice care and suffering from end stage bone cancer and the medical bills are rising.  The family of Sensei Mitchell is asking for your support during this very devastating and trying time.  We are asking for donations to help with medical costs along with other expenses.  Everyone who knows Sensei know how much of a fighter Sensei is and this is a battle that he is still trying to fight.

Donations can be made at any Chase Bank in care of Ozzie Mitchell, Sr. Special Needs Trust.
Donations can also be made through PayPal Ozzie Mitchell Healthcare Fundraiser.
