The Peter Claver Center has been serving the poor and underprivileged residents of Northern Will County for over sixty years.

Every year at Christmas and Thanksgiving, volunteers and supporters of the Center organize a food and clothing giveaway.  Thanksgiving food baskets, which are donated to the Center by businesses and residents of Will County are distributed to the needy.  Baskets include turkeys, fresh vegetables, and other non-perishable items.

At Christmastime, food, clothes, and toys are distributed focusing mainly on the children of the area.  Please watch this site, social media, and the local newspapers for information on how to volunteer, contribute, or sign up for the distributions.

As Self Defense

Since the ultimate goal of true karate training isbased on the concept of controlling mind and body, and since its principle is that of peace and harmony among people, the true karate student never provokes violence or looks for trouble.  He or she will walk away from potential trouble whenever it is avoidable, which is possible because of the true confidence that is acquired through karate training.  Self-respect and inner confidence are naturally manifested from within in such a way that the true karate student can demonstrate a peaceful and respectful attitude toward others.

Physical strength and energy controlled by a proper mental attitude are always used in the interest of positive and constructive causes such as helping those who are in need of help and improving society as a whole.
